So I'd been staying in Umar for about a week and I got a call from, you know, Ro Khanna's office that they were going to be in the West Bank asking if I had suggestions for places I could go, people they could meet.
I went and I talked to the sort of village council in Umar.
I mean, I told them flat out, like, listen, this guy does not have perfect politics, in my estimation, on Palestine.
And I talked them through sort of where he's at, and they said, yes, he should come visit.
So I connected him with the people there.
He came to visit.
He came the morning after.
I mean, that last week, there were attacks basically every single day.
There are always attacks there, but it was like a particularly violent week.
This is also a place where a settler murdered Alda Hathleen last July on camera.
He was never arrested.
So anyway, he came with his little delegation, including Cam Kasky.
They showed them around, you know, they showed them a home that the settlers are actively trying to steal right now.
The, you know, the flag planting thing that you saw there is basically like the settlers come into the village, they try to plant flags.
And after they do that, they then come back with a fence and they start fencing off an area.
It's the first step in them stealing more land.
Rokano was not there when there was any sort of a violent confrontation.
