Traditionally, the Iron Dome has been considered by a lot of politicians to be defensive, defensive weaponry to, you know, prevent incoming rocket attacks from
from Hamas, from Hezbollah, from the Houthis.
And in the most technical sense, yes, it shoots rockets out of the sky.
But if Israel did not have an Iron Dome, just to be clear, they would be facing hundreds, if not thousands, of casualties at this point in the war.
And they would not be waging this war anymore.
The Israeli public would not tolerate hundreds or thousands of civilians being killed by incoming rockets the way that Iran is tolerating it right now because they have no Iron Dome.
And so when we think about like,
know rubio said today that somebody asked him um was there an imminent threat and he said of course there was an imminent threat and then he gave that you know ridiculous explanation about how israel was going to attack iran and then iran was going to attack us and so of course you know so they had to preemptively attack it so if you just like cut out the middleman there what he's saying to be clear is israel is the imminent threat
And I think that's an important point to keep in mind, which is that Israel is an imminent threat, not just to the United States and to Iran and to Gaza and to the West Bank and to Lebanon and to every Gulf country that's now getting bombed.
Israel is an imminent threat to the entire world.
And I'm not being hyperbolic.
I mean, they because they feel that they can act with impunity.
that they can commit genocide in Gaza for two years and have minimal casualties, virtually no civilian casualties since October 7th, they feel that they can do whatever they want across the entire Middle East.
And I mean, I think that that is going to be the sort of defining foreign policy question for the foreseeable future is,
To what extent are we going to let Israel feel that it can wage relentless war wherever it wants, kill as many civilians, as many children as it wants, in whatever country it wants with no consequences whatsoever because we provide them with an Iron Dome?
And at a certain point, I hope people will go back to the thing Rubio said and just look back at the last couple of years and realize Israel is the imminent threat here to all of us.
Are you talking about his sort of Dr. Seuss, his rhyming explanation of it?
No, I mean, you know, the,
Even Trump himself, like his his what he's telling different reporters and media organizations seems to be changing by the hour.
I mean, one day it's it's going to be quick in and out.
