I'm about to play you one of the many videos that Nick sent Gypsy.
In this video, it does seem like he's instructing her to include certain elements in her videos back to him.
Nick's videos are bizarre and not easy to understand, but pay attention to how he's talking.
It sounds like he's giving her specific instructions.
Now, before you start spiraling, here's how I think about this.
Gypsy grew up completely isolated.
She had no friends, she didn't go to school, she had no normal frame of reference for what relationships are supposed to look like.
Whatever she knew about sex and intimacy, she probably learned it from the internet.
And we all know what the internet teaches kids about sex: girls being choked.

I mean contemporary porn looks like torture videos these days.
In my view, that's what she had to work with.
She also knew that she needed help to get out.
She needed someone willing to come get her.
And she knew what men wanted.
Dark, intense, violent sex.
So the question isn't whether Gypsy introduced that dynamic to Dan and later to Nick because she liked it or because that was her kink.
The real question is whether she believed that that was the price of her freedom.
