When you realize what it feels like to overcome, you start, just like when you realize you get food for touching a bucket, you start looking for other behaviors to see if I can get some food.
When I realized that I can create in myself a sense of like, fuck man, I did it.
You start looking around and,
For things like that one is something I could do, you know?
Yeah.
I think that's a, I got to get that Nietzsche quote in most people's heads.
Like happiness is resistance overcome.
With dog training stuff?
Yeah.
Well, with dog training, honestly, for me, it's been this idea of like the biggest thing lately has been not the biggest thing, but the thing that I've been thinking about and trying to find a way to explain to other people better is this idea that
negative reinforcement playfully like in a in a okay the way i've been explaining it this is so this is not you saw my presentation on windows that shit's pretty dialed in it was very cool this is not dialed in this is still floating around in my head
people talk about quadrants or whatever, and like people are opposed, like purely positive people have this thing of like, they look at the quadrants and then they go like, okay, well this quadrant I'm going to use in this quadrant.
I'm not going to use it.
You know, like negative reinforcement, the whole quadrants off the table.
Like, listen, man, we can be in the same quadrant, but not in the same zone.
And that's something I've been trying to get across to people of like in negative reinforcement, for example, there's,
dire emergent survival negative reinforcement if i don't do the thing i'm gonna die it's like an emergency it's a it's a panic button yes dude they're doing it but they're like yes okay that is technically negative reinforcement but then you can move somewhere over it's a very bad emotional place to be in yes then there's non-emergent negative reinforcement like dude it's a little hot
I'm in the sun.
I'm a little hot.
I decide to move over to the shade.
