But when he does things like, I am trapped working for this terrible guy at a bar in a town where I don't want to be, and he doesn't just get himself out of there.
I struggle to buy all of the motivations that he seems to feel trapped and can't move.
And I think that there is a a version of every day that he spent there where he could have easily just vanished.
Literally.
Just take a sip of the magic juice and he's gone.
It's stuff like that that it pulls me out of the story.

I I don't wanna spend a lot of time haranguing this book, but this is one of the reasons why I'm struggling.
Yeah, Stephen King tends to write in this very propulsive style.
His stories move at a really steady clip, sometimes a really fast speed.
And whether it's a twelve page short story or a twelve hundred page behemoth, it's never a challenge to turn the page.

And this is one of the first times I've come across one of his books and definitely the first time
in a book that we've covered on our show.
That I've been kinda like, maybe I'll read more today.
