And so it is really important that we have an open mind and talk to people because they are all of these things.
The classic phrase for it is we contain multitudes.
And people don't like to be stereotyped and pigeonholed into an identity, especially one that they did not choose.
And so I think we need to create a space for people to have more freedom and
an agency to select the identities and the groups that matter to them.
And you'll see people do this.
They'll signal it by wearing a hat of their favorite team or the city they're from or the country from the nation that they're born in, if that matters to them.
And this is their way of sending a signal out into the world about the identities that matter to them and who they really are.
