And like I said, he's a really easy person to invest in.
So it made sense to do this now and to make sure that he's, you know, wearing a Cubs uniform for a long time.
I would say it wasn't through lack of trying before.
We definitely had these discussions, but this is one... It was pretty clear from the outset that there was mutual interest, and I think that's sometimes just the most important thing, that
know there's times that the player is not interested which i totally understand that's their right you know in this case um you know i give a lot of credit to pete and to ryan and ollie they made it clear that getting a deal done and staying here for a long time that that was a priority and so they made the conversation really easy there's never a question of desire on either side i think that's the most important thing toward you know getting a getting a deal done
Take one more over here from Matt.
Yeah, Pete, congrats on the contract and Jed, congrats on getting it done.
Jed, you've mentioned the word brand a few times today.
And I guess this goes to Pete as well.

Because who he is as a person, but who he is as a player.
And I think that the more kids around the country, not just in Chicago, but around the country that are wearing Cubs uniforms, the better.
So I think it is really important that we're
We want this to be a national brand.
We want everyone wearing Cubs stuff.
And if they're doing it because they love watching him play or they love what he represents, I think that's a fantastic thing.
We'll take one more from Patrick in the back.
