It's funny, Brian Burke this week, on Wednesday when he was on, so we have Brian on every Wednesday and he was telling a story about Thomas Vanik.
And this is when, so he was interviewing Vanik
and he said vanik rolled in he had the sunglasses and the hair back and he's like you know okay i'm going top five why are you talking to me why you're bothering me and berkey said he swore at him and said you should do your homework like i've been known to move up in the draft take those sunglasses off sit up straight he said vanik like snapped up to attention when he realized like here's a manager that has a history of moving up in the draft most specifically with the vancouver canucks to get the cities like you better you better do your homework kid
So I think I think a lot of it, too, is like just, you know, just in case, like you never want to be caught not ready for any kind of situation.
So listen, I don't think that Vancouver is going to get the kid from Whitehorse.
But again, you want to be able to go back to ownership in case something goofy happens.
You want to make sure that you know that you're prepared for it should something bizarre happen and you're in a position to take Gavin McKenna.
So that does make some sense to me when you're up and around that rarefied area of the draft.
uh and they have they've gotten more interesting once upon a time they were ruthless like this is like back when when the combine was that you know a hotel by the airport in toronto was like a one-day fly-in fly-out type affair maybe maybe two days and it's come a long way obviously that's a week-long event part of it is marketing of the draft and all of it um but i mean there would be like ruthless questions i remember one kid
