His story will show us that flourishing does indeed emerge from fragmentation.
That even the most obscure places provide the power to overcome fragmentation.
and that the end of our story is not the terror of loss, but the triumph of life and love.
Every ounce of that hope comes from one branch, our one King, Jesus of Nazareth, the one branch that makes all the difference in the world.
Father, we stand in awe of how your promises are fulfilled in Jesus.
Help us trust you.
Jesus, we need you to reach into the rubble of our world and grow new life and new love in your kingdom.
Help us surrender to you.
Spirit, bind us together as a people who are united to that one branch.
Help us bear fruit in him.
We pray all of this because of your grace, for your glory, and in your story.
In the name of Jesus of Nazareth, amen.
Jeff Perrett.
You've probably heard of the metaphor of being on a road to nowhere.
traveling, trying to get to a destination, but you're just going nowhere.
A lot of us are familiar with that feeling, with that term, the road to nowhere, but you may not know that in the hills of North Carolina, there is an actual road to nowhere.
Settled in Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Road to Nowhere is a six and a half mile path that comes to a dead end at an ominous tunnel.
Back in the nineteen forties, the road was promised to be completed.
It was supposed to lead somewhere, but it was never finished.
It was just left as a dead end.
