Or were you surprised he was still there for the Bears?
I think in this draft, well, nothing surprised me.
I wish I would have had the guts to stick with my bold prediction that we made when I was across the street with Cassie Carlson and Tina Nguyen.
We ended the show, as we usually do when we do our Bears pregame stuff or anything before a show like this.
We have a bold prediction at the end.
I told them on camera, well, I don't have anything bold.
The Bears are just going to draft Dylan Thiedemann.
And we got on the air and I said, well, I guess I'll come up with something a little bit more bold than that.
And I went a different direction, just talked about T.J.
Parker, a defensive lineman who a lot of folks weren't necessarily mocking to the Bears.
Should have just stuck with Thiedemann.
I could have just reposted that as opposed to a lot of the other stuff.
I'm glad the Bears got Thienemann, a really quality pick, a football player who will come in and definitively be a starter from jumping.
As we've seen over the last handful of years, the Bears' early picks, first round, second round, sometimes these are guys where you're projecting, you're wondering where do they fit in, how well can they be a part of this scheme.
Thienemann will come in, he will start next to Kobe Bryant from day one, he will do the job that's necessary, and he will enhance the Bears' defense.
Yeah, yeah.
A guy who's seen a lot.
Right.
He's seen a lot.
He's called a lot of playmaking defensive backs during his time in the NFL, and you're looking at the way the Bears secondary defensively.
