Like uh and so it's very easy to have that kind of

filter because our system's always keeping us on the defensive and we're gonna use defensive language and a lot of the times as a leader we hedge because we don't want them to be disappointed with us.

Mm-hmm.

We don't want to hurt their feelings and so we feel other people's feeling for us.

That's why talk a little more about hedge.

What do you mean when you say as leaders we hedge?

We undercut the words before we get them out.

So it might sound as simple as, okay um

Or uh hey, I I hate to bother you, uh, but and then we start talking.

Or yeah, I mean this is uh yeah, this is gonna be a little uh rough and uh rocky, but uh y you start to h hedge because you're afraid you're gonna hurt their feelings and so uh you know what this is like.

You sugar coat.

Hey, uh, remember the other day, and I mean it may be I I could be totally wrong here, but it seems like the more you sugarcoat, the more bitter it becomes.

Yeah.

Why i why is that?

I mean to me it's just the definition of confidence.

Confidence the wrong version, wrong definition is I'm never wrong.

confidence is really I know that I'll get it wrong.

I mean and and I can take strength in that and and know that I'm gonna happen.

So what Deloney's saying of you m you be the first to model repair I mean who who who can complain about that that goes, you know what, that person's doing it the right way.

That person's a a true leader.
