For the word of God is living and active and full of power, making it operative, energizing and effective.

It is sharper than a two-edged sword, penetrating as far as the division of the soul and spirit, the completeness of a person and separating both joints and marrow, excuse me, the deepest parts of our nature, exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart.

So it's a living and active.

But the topic that I want to actually cover today is the idea that there actually are some believers who idolize the Bible.

And so what do I mean by that?

People look at the Bible as the main source of life, but Jesus is actually our main source of life.

The Bible says Jesus is the bread of life, right?

So hear me out.

Where I'm going with this is the idea that we may have a little bit of a wrong perspective of the purpose of the Bible in our lives.

Is it possible to idolize the Bible?

Yes, it is.

I have seen it.

I've seen it a lot in some traditional conservative circles, unfortunately.

But how?

What does that mean?

What it means is that people rely more on the Bible than they do God himself.

Okay, so what does that look like?

Have you heard some believers say things like,

All the answers to life can be found in the Bible.

I've heard that several times.
