The black box never really changed anything that I did because I explained it to people in advance.
And I like to point out, I prescribe a lot of treatments that have black box warnings.
And Dr. McCary is not concerned about any of those.
You know, I give tons of topical tacrolimus for lichen sclerosis.
Haven't seen him interested in that.
I think vaginal clindamycin has a black box warning for C. difficile, if I'm not mistaken.
I haven't seen anybody be interested in that.
And so, you know, I think it behooves us as providers to explain the black box warning, what that means and doesn't mean to an individual patient.
I don't think the black box warning is going to change things.
What I think is going to change things is propaganda and financial investment.
So there are companies that, you know, you can go and get menopause hormone therapy from.
You can basically fill out a questionnaire.
You can, you know, not give them your mammogram.
And it seems people are getting it.
And I'm like, you didn't tell them you have a blood clotting disorder?
