So there was a memoir initially, and then there was the one that you interviewed her about, which was called Free, wasn't

And so every time she makes any attempt, and this is what Rachel O'Dwyer is writing about this weekend in the opinion pages, every time she makes any attempt to kind of reclaim the narrative or reclaim her own story.

And this, obviously what happens to Meredith Kircher is beyond her,

And her family's grief is very real and extremely enduring.

But it did also happen to Amanda Knox.

She was

victim, not on the same scale because she's still alive, but it absolutely shaped her life.

So I think it's really naive and it's really unfair of people to say that she should move on from this and that she shouldn't let it continue to shape her life.

Because it obviously is, as you say, it's the defining event of her entire life.

So anyway, she's waded right into the controversy once again as she's brought a solo show to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, which is going on at the moment.

It's called Cartwheel, which as everybody who remembers the story will remember was she was accused of, and I think she did kind of turn cartwheels outside the police station with her boyfriend while she was waiting.

And like my understanding of it was even at the time, she was just very immature.

She was very young.

She was old.

under extreme duress, but it also probably didn't feel real to her, you know, as things don't.

So anyway, Cartwheel is a reference to, you know, what she did as a bored and kind of clueless teenager when she was standing outside the police station in the hours after Kircher's murder.

And that was one of the things that was photographed and very widely used and held against her.

And she was, as Rachel writes, she was seen as too silly, too goofy, too sexy.
