Or, like, how much is he now seeing, like, you know, plays better or being able to, like, study other teams' books and things like – I don't know.
And all that we get are these, like, either garbage time minutes or, you know, that time where he might get 16 minutes because of an injury, a one-game injury kind of a thing or whatever.
Yeah.
And we try, honestly, kind of like head coaches do, we try to assess the player from these small little sample sizes over, you know, a quite long period of time.
And I think Jalen Pickett, like the Jalen Pickett I have in my mind, even coming out of college, like what the word was on him was like just the most high floor player
The word was low ceiling, but high floor, like countable, like clockwork.
This is a guy who's able to come in and run an offense.
He's able to bring maturity to the game.
He's never too hot in the moment, always cool and calm.
You know, I kind of wonder if he's just been this good for a while, and now that he's finally getting consistent minutes, those sample sizes are starting to prove true.
Because there's been some bad Jalen Pickett games, even when he's gotten a big dose here.
the past month or two and it's like it had that been his only game in this period of time you'd be like yeah jalen pickett we gotta get rid of him um but when he gets that extra time and you start to get these plot points and you start to average things out you're like wait this is this is a guy who can really perform um that that to me is uh it's almost the opposite of peyton watson peyton watson was a guy who the book on him
was he can't do this.
And he proved to everybody that he could.
With Jalen Pickett, it was like, he does this
but is that enough and and he he's been able to to i think kind of break through at this point and prove that that he is this player and i think it's great to have that high floor like that is what you want in a backup point guard you don't you don't i don't think you want the guy who who might score 30 one night and then zero the next kind of a thing you don't want the guy who's who's not going to look for his players or whatever
you want a guy who can come in and at least try to carry some sort of rhythm, some sort of recognizable professional offense that's being played.
And this was a guy, you know, from the Penn State days that was just like always, he was a 35-year-old guy on the court in his college days.
That's what he was.
He was not fast.
