Robert Wagner was convicted of...

10 of the murders and with assisting after the fact in the murder of Clinton Trecise.

He pleaded guilty to some of those, but didn't make any confession, didn't implicate bunting, still sat with him at trial.

So he was obstinate in his admission of some of the crimes.

Mark Hayden, as you know, he was charged but never convicted of any murders.

So he's serving his time for assisting offenders.

So Mark Hayden is not a killer.

He's not a convicted killer.

Well, Mark Hayden was initially charged with the same sort of holding charge, if you like, as the others.

And then he was charged with some of the murders that police believed he had played a part in.

He was charged with his wife's murder, being a part of that.

And initially the Crown case was that he should be found guilty of all of the murders by joint enterprise, in that he was working with the killers, sometimes directly, sometimes indirectly.

But his legal team succeeded in having...

charges dropped, charges knocked out, trials severed.

And it eventually got to the point where it was only able to be proved that he assisted offenders and he was jailed for that.

But does he have blood on his hands?

I believe he does.

But in the world of broadcast media, you can't sit here and call him a killer.

And Mark Hayden is a sit back, he's not an active, he's a pretty passive, quiet kind of person.
