COVID, it was like a weird V shape.
People might have seen a few months of downturns and then it kind of exploded thereafter.
If you look at what happened after the global financial crisis, like it took years.
Yeah.
Years.
And you feel so sorry for the people.
who were nervous that it was going to get worse.
We call this loss aversion.
We're much more worried about things going bad than the potential upswing of good.
And so we pull our money off the table.
We wait until things feel calmer again and sunnier, and then we put our money back in when the price has gone up.
So we sell at the bottom.
And buy at the top.
And we buy at the top.
That is...
Not what anyone would do with a long-term approach, but emotions get in the way.
So I think you've got to be honest about yourself and what you are likely to do.
You might want an accountability buddy or someone where you're like, I am not allowed to log in or make any changes unless, you know, you and I have this relationship.
chat and for my members i give them like these series of reflective questions that they have to go through yeah and create a plan so that when this happens and when they're feeling wobbly because you will have wobbly moments they have to kind of go back through this checklist that they've created for themselves does it always work i don't know because we haven't had huge corrections you know in the last couple of years what's a correction
So basically when markets go down, we call them corrections.
