So she's been counting down the days, planning her ideas, all the things.
And so we had an invite list.
And she asks me at least three times a day, has anyone RSVP'd that we need to make sure we're counting?
Like, she's so into this and excited.
I can't even explain it.
The thing is, though, Saturday is literally two days before school starts.
So everyone comes always.
She's always the birthday that kicks off the school year.
And since everyone's in town, we basically get 100% yes for the RSVPs.
So we always have to be very careful with the size of our list because it can grow really fast.
She's absolutely ecstatic, and honestly, I am too.
It's just very sweet, celebrating her birthday and my other two girls that happen to be in the fall as well.
It's just a challenge, though, when you're kicking off a school year and, oh yeah, throwing a giant birthday party.
It's like one more thing on an already very full calendar.
But I always find this time of year really interesting because it tests my skill sets.
It really is my opportunity to practice what I preach.
I spend so much time talking with all of you mamas about plan ahead, stay prepared, organize your week in advance, and make sure you're creating habits that make you feel less chaotic.
We have to restack those routines when they aren't helping you get the outcome that you actually want from them.
But it sure is a reality check for me when my season of life gets really hectic.
The process of simplifying your routines, thinking ahead instead of just reacting to things, and building systems that actually support the life you're trying to create, it's so critical.
