Exactly.
It's like we don't talk about the midwater enough.
And so these researchers started off the coast of Brazil.
They went out into international waters and they basically did this just very focused two week expedition.
But with this underwater research.
rover that could go down and do imaging.
They could bring sea creatures that they found up into the lab, put them into this like still pressurized, still very, you know, aqueous environment, and then actually do imaging of them there.
So like we talk about different types of, say, like imaging, like using a light microscope that you can do.
And a lot of times when you're doing this for biological samples, you would have to like bring them up, dry them out, like stain them, put them on a little glass slide.
These researchers were doing this all just in situ on the ship and then able to just release the animals back out into the sea, which is so cool.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's very cool.
And there were some species that they found too, like not new species, but species that had never actually been observed while they were still alive before.
Like different types of sort of this mid-water dwelling squid.
They found a bunch of different types of jellyfish, some cone jellies, some siphonophores, which are similar to like the Portuguese man-of-war.
A gossamer worm, which has to be my favorite name.
