Tyler Perry was his boss.
He was producing the show that he was working on, The Oval.
I think he did about 85 episodes or so.
And that's what complicates it.
And obviously, we're in the early stages, I believe.
Tyler Perry's defense came forward, his team came forward and said that this was a scam, that Derek can move forward with him and was creating a relationship with him to take advantage.
So I'm curious to see what their narrative is.
And yes, these are only allegations at this point.
We'll see where it progresses.
But there was a lot, a lot in that 46 page.
Don, you raise a number of questions that are going to be brought up during the course of this case.
And you can't have this case without Derek taking the stand.
It's going to happen.
If it goes to trial, he's going to have to take the stand.
And this is exactly what Tyler Perry's attorneys are going to question about.
Counter argument to that would be you're dealing with Tyler Perry.
It's one of the most powerful people in all of entertainment.
And if you have somebody and it kind of reads very similar to what we've seen in other instances where he's heading up this production, you know, you're making money, you're on a big show.
What can you do to push back?
And there was this allegation in the complaint that Tyler Perry had told him, you need to tell me no in a more strong fashion.
