I think there's many reasons why people become different in how they perform, different to the next person who's really, really world-class.
But there's something about Mark as an actor that, and I think it's buried, it lives in that idea that he's there at home,
Rather than performing.
It's so exciting.
As long as he doesn't change the words all the time, then, I mean, I want to see what he does next.
And there's a definite sense that
I think it's a combination.
I think like everything, it's two things.
I think there's so much about it, which is just an openness to what's going to come.
But there's also an equal amount of it that is just pure craft.
Mark could tell whether someone was going to cough in three seconds in the upper circle and just shape what he was about to do because he would hear someone breathe in and
80 yards away and he wasn't going to get the main point he had to make masked because he was so attuned to what was going on in a room of a thousand people amazing and that's that's what is that i mean that is somewhere between craft and magic uh
It's incredible to be able to do that, but I would see him do it all the time.
He would never, ever be coughed over.
And he'd put in these tiny little hesitations that would make you feel like he'd lost his way and then land it, the other side of the cough.
And that's someone who's just...
you know done the 10 000 hours on on on the on the stage so a lot of his craft a lot of this is just pure the spirit that he's and the openness and the vulnerability that he's allowed himself to face the task that i think match um at that point we're doing very different parts of the very different parts of the machine but match mine i mean i was just i didn't care if this killed me
And isn't that wonderful for an audience?
