And I spoke to the brilliant songwriter guitarist Richard Thompson after one of his shows at the Palladium, and he said that

It's the only time he's ever seen a bouncer get a credit on a... But all those things about him, it's just like watching this person and thinking, what's going on over there?

help me out here a little bit like is he exploiting them or is he protecting them or is it far more complicated than that uh i think that those are those are questions uh in in the play are they safer than they are home physically safer or like um spiritually safer you know are they better are they better off living this life where they are involved in some kind of uh

mythic ceremony every night rather than just watching someone else do it on telly.

Are they in danger from him?

I mean, he makes a pretty good case for the fact that pretty much everyone has passed through here at some point in their life and that the people that are pillorying him now were here, you know, 20 years before.

And I guess just kicking it into that area where all things are both things is what makes it a play.
