So one that I always touch on, because it just sounds so ridiculous when you get down to the nuts and bolts of it, is the MasterCard Gold card.

So this is something that you can flash, very status symbol.

The card is literally painted with 24 karat gold.

So obviously very nice to have in your wallet, but the annual fee is $995.

And you essentially don't get too much for that.

You get a point for every dollar spent on most purchases.

Good cards now give you two to 5% cash back.

You get a $200 airfare credit each year, but there are travel cards,

They give you way more for a fee under $100.

Wait, you said $1,000?

Yes, $1,000, and you really don't get much for it except for a shiny card.

So that's certainly, I think, the trickiest out of all of these cards.

If you're looking for a store card, most store cards are actually pretty good these days.

The Goodyear credit card is one of the worst, though.
