And I was in that cycle of, oh, when I get this fellowship, I'll be happy.

Oh, when I get this next degree, I'll be happy.

Oh, when I become a tenured professor, I'll be happy.

And so I think that's one of the biggest clues that you're not on the path that's meant for you, that your soul really wants to be here for.

Because I do believe that we all have a purpose.

We all have a path.

And when we're on it, we know it.

And it feels good.

We're not waiting for that next thing to happen.

We're like, oh, you know what?

I'm happy right where I am.

I'm still going to go for that next thing because that's part of my path.

But if I don't get there, that's also OK.

And there's a bit of surrender that happens when we're actually on our path.

And so we feel it in every part of ourselves and our entire energy.

We're excited to get up for the day.

We're motivated.

It's not that everything's easy and there's unicorns flying all around.

It's just we know this is where we're meant to be and we're not waiting for that next thing to happen.
