I mean, look, he really doesn't have interest in trading Mason Miller because of the years of control.

He's the best pitcher in baseball.

I mean, this stuff is just off the charts, whether it's the 102-mile-an-hour fastball or the slider.

And now he's got a changeup as well.

So he's not looking to move him.

But if somebody wants to give him a franchise-changing type trade where he can get three or four players back, and I'll use the example of the Garrett Crochet trade with the White Sox and Red Sox,

It's going to take that kind of return to get him.

It's not going to be one prospect straight up for him like he was able to do when he traded for him.

So if it's a crochet return, then I would expect if someone were to offer that, then I would expect AJ to trade him.

If not, then I think he'll just hold on to him.

And more likely, if he decides to sell, more likely he sells on Michael King than Mason Miller because of the control issues.

Yankees, White Sox, Brewers would be the three teams that

come to mind out of the get-go that um certainly have enough if they decide they want to pay the price but i think the follow-up question is can you see any of them doing that and my response back to them would be no i i don't see any of them you know milwaukee is built on

building for the long term i think if they give up any of their top prospects it's going to be in a school deal and it won't be quantity the white socks have worked too hard to get their franchise to where it is right now where they've got a chance to be perennial contenders i don't think they're going to trade their next wave of top prospects to do it not that they wouldn't offer one or two to try to get it done but i don't think they would offer what it would take to get them so if i was a betting person as of today i would say that it'll probably be a padre next tuesday

Well, yes.

And to be clear, number one, that's a position you can take.

Sometimes the position changes on Monday at 5 o'clock and you have an hour to go in the trade deadline.

All of a sudden, that seventh best prospect becomes available.

But you want to have that position a week out.

So it's a smart position to take.
