I've never seen a reaction quite like what I saw from the agency.

So Steve Baker provided information based off gate analysis that indicated that a current CIA officer, former Capitol Police officer, may have been the person who placed the bombs that were outside the RNC and DNC on the evening of January 5th.
early morning, whatever it was, and provided it to the DNI.
Now, he provided it to the DNI because, and I didn't realize this until much later,
You know, as we're doing these investigations, sometimes you just need to bring in an expert.
And he had been following it for so long, somebody, and I'm not sure which part of the team did it, they asked him, hey, would you like to help us with this?
He deferred.
He said, listen, I'll be glad to give you anything you need, but I don't actually formally want to be part of the investigatory work because he wants to be a journalist.
He's actually a musician, which I find great.
And so he provided that information and a memo was typed up.
memo uh went to the pdd and i uh the principal deputy director of national intelligence aaron lucas and it got scanned in and sent over to michael ellis and that thing got shot number two at cia number two at cia shot all over the cia and next you know um people were losing their minds uh when i say people they were so excited to get to the bottom of this right right right we finally figured it out um
No, they were pretty upset.
They're like, what are you doing?
This is defamation.
And, you know, people were pulled in front of other people.
Defamation in what way?
Well, you know, they're saying, listen, this person who was named in this investigation, you know, she's not, that individual is not the person who did it.
And, you know, you could get yourself in a lot of trouble.
You could get sued.
