a just a specific instance that a manager says i shouldn't do that that i think that was the problem with evaluating griffo is he would just speak in generalities and you would just not know whether he knew uh what you know some issues that he could control were and whether he could correct him and so having venable say that i screwed up uh is very refreshing for just figuring out how he's going to adjust going forward
You appreciate their ability to counterpunch, I think.
It makes it easier to, like even the Philly series, that was a tough series, but it was kind of like a bar fight.
They took more shots than they gave out, but they were able to get some shots in.
And I think even if you lose two out of three, the way that they lost two out of three,
gives you some faith that they are able to dust themselves off.
And with the brave series, you overcome a deficit like they seem to have short memories.
They seem to have the ability to score runs in different ways, which I think, you know, they're reliant on a long ball.
And then, you know, as we just talked about, sometimes they maybe go a little bit too focused on small ball, but they do have
ways to start rallies or create scoring innings from different parts of the order, whether it's mashing up top or just stringing together some walks or some useful contact down below to turn the lineup over to the power hitters again.
So I think that's really what you take away from this is, you know, they could go through this, you know, stretch of 12 games and go four and eight or five and seven.
But between the way they banked games against what turned out to be the lesser part of their schedule early on, that's why you win games against teams that are below 500 to be able to absorb some tough weeks like the one they're dealing with right now.
Yeah, that certainly helps.
And then should they come out 500 or better from this stretch, then...
it definitely changes the tenor of this team further to where you believe more in them going into the deadline and how much they can add and where they can add and where just the most useful investment will be.
Definitely a Lazarus story.
I think before the season, you're more or less thinking he might get a cameo at some point because he can field enough positions.
He puts the bat in the ball.
The White Sox invested the first round pick in him.
So if they need a utility infielder for some stretch of the season, they might give him a look and see what he does.
