Years ago, years ago, 2008, the summer of 2008 going into the winter of 2009.

No, is it 2007?

Wow.

The fall of 2007, me and Nick.

Offerman.

Me and Nick Offerman.

Me and Nick Hoffman made friends that summer.

This was all before Parks and Rec, before he became an international A-list celebrity.

We made friends.

He worked with my brother, so Nick and I became friendly.

And because he was moving to New York, he needed to meet other woodworkers, so my brother introduced us.

And...

Nick wanted to build a canoe.

And the fast story is I ended up being the videographer for the canoe, for the canoe company that provided the plans.

And we shot 25 hours of footage that fall going into the next summer.

And we ended up making a boat, which is called the Huckleberry, which is the one Nick built.
