I mean, politicians, frankly, on both sides, the far left, far right, are gaining ascendancy by manipulating people into being angry and so on and so forth.
And social media really works very well for that.
And, you know, I just think people should pull back from it.
They should just say, you know what, actually, that's not the right way to form my opinions.
If I see somebody ranting in social media about, you know, this or that politician on either side, probably they say, you know what, actually, I may or may not agree with that politician.
I may or may not think they did the right or wrong thing.
But the extreme rhetoric isn't really shedding light.
It's just heat and it's not really helping.
You know, not in a huge way.
I mean, we're obviously watching it very closely.
It's an amazing technology, and it's a terrible technology.
You know, AI is not good enough yet to write Wikipedia entries.
It hallucinates, it makes things up, and particularly bad, it tends to make things up that sound quite plausible, and that's very dangerous.
You know, if you're trying to get some information from an AI, you need to be super careful because it will tell you something
that isn't true, but that sounds good.
Or that because it's noticed what you're like, it'll say something that it thinks you're going to like, you know, because it wants to be, it's desperate to be liked by you.
And so that is something that we're really watching out for.
But, you know, I think there's a lot of opportunity in the technology to, you know, help us, you know, look for things that seem biased or look for missing information and suggest that the human editor is like, oh, hey, this, I found this.
Would that go on Wikipedia?
