Altruistic, naive, lost, perhaps, but equally they are invested in shaping a world that they want to live in when they grow up.
Today we're looking at engagement of young people when crafting strategies and initiatives for the future, their future, taking learnings from the public sector and UNICEF with Shy Niders.
What is the state at the moment of young people?
It feels like they're facing into more challenges than opportunities.
Maybe a lot of this is that there is just this m massive chasm between
existing leaders in the world, whether they are in government or in business, and young people that you mentioned, the stat around government and policy makers in business, the average age of leaders, senior leaders is fifty seven.
And I feel like maybe there is a bit of a disconnect there in like proactively bringing in the representation of young people inside of roles where they actually have authority or even permission.
to provide some of those challenges about the world that they're gonna inherit.
Yeah, definitely.

uh for meaningful youth engagement, which I'll link into the show notes because uh anyone can access that.
And I think it's really helpful actually even for business leaders, you know, where we have these boards and they have one youth voice on the board as generally just as, you know, a symbol of what we value, but not necessarily then pulled through into, as your report rightly says, influence.
You've been speaking to
for a lot of young people about what's working, what's not working for them.
From the other side, from the let's say the elders, why do you think that it's not working from their perspective?
What is the blocker for them to better pull in the recommendations and the strategies of young people?
I think that's so insightful and such an important point, particularly that whether it's a business strategy, an employment plan, a policy, it's designed by people who have lived
