So much of attention now we say is attributable to success, right, in the attention economy that we're in.

It's also then once you get it out there, and particularly if it does go viral, it's the response, how you respond as a brand to the audience perception, which sometimes can be

quite negative, which I think is maybe linked to why we're seeing such a huge appointment of communications officers inside of CMO roles, is it's almost less about knowing the marketing mix because if you've got a great team underneath you, they know how to do that.

They know the marketing foundations.

It's more than how do you, from a more leadership perspective, respond.

to a market that is so open now and so globally accessible to the content that you put out there, are you ready to respond to potentially something unexpected?

Yeah.

And you I mean, you've spent sixteen years inside of Unilever, right?

So you've seen that where the intent of the campaign, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

So I'm wondering now that you've been in teaching for what you're a professor, right?

So working with young people who are getting into this business world.

Has that shifted your mindset at all and how you think about that most effective way for brands to make an impact?

maybe one thing that we can't or shouldn't outsource to the AI right now is that real understanding of the brand that we as brand strategists have and how to best promote it.

So I think those fundamentals and foundations continue to come up as something that's really, really critical, especially now in a time when there are many distractions for a marketer.
