Yeah, well I was gonna race up to the terrace an hour before we were due to talk and we had a massive storm come through Rome, so we couldn't see much in Rome, but some people in northern Italy have been sending me images from up there.
About sixty percent I think coverage up there, not really a full eclipse.
know what I mean?
I think I think it's all about having the gear to watch it, you know, you don't want to watch it through a cereal box or a jazz cracker, right?
Well, it's just a you know, we've talked about this, is it now become a tit for tat where Spain has been blocking Italian travellers or at least asking them to present their passports and IDs
after Italy did the same thing to Spanish travellers coming into Italy.
This is the of course the border control dispute that emerged after all those migrants surged from uh Ceuta into southern Spain uh on july thirty.
So this is going backwards and forwards and these border controls from both countries are going to continue until September, I think.
Well, I mean I think they're gonna be really on full alert this time and supposedly stepping up the border controls there and trying to block people from swimming into the country like they did last time.
But if that does happen again I think Italy's really gonna go berserk again because they're so unhappy about this situation.
I think it does.
I think migration, believe it or not, is going to be a huge issue at the next election in Italy, which is probably due in April next year.
Uh having said that, Italy's done a great job in reducing the numbers, not so significant this year, and we haven't seen so many arrivals coming into Lampedusa, the island off the coast of Sicily.
So
Uh it still remains a sleeper issue I think for many Italians.
She's under pressure.
