We have a certain generation...

who were feeling fine in a communist regime, who say, well, it has been not as bad before, and I don't feel it's now ten times better.

It has been a miracle, yes.

And what we should have known, it's easier always to speak afterwards, that we will need for this tremendous task at least two generations.

The East German people were proud.

We have reached our freedom.

We are no more, let's say, in an oppressive regime.

Now we can breathe in a free way.
