There's all of these thoughts that I presume are going through Ireland

Of course, these lads want to line out in their green jerseys.

They want to line out for their country.

That's the way they're programmed.

You know, it's their vocation.

It's their love.

It's their growl.

But they're thinking somewhere in the back of their head the implications that any refusal to play may have, regardless of whether they believe that it's morally right to participate or not.

So at the moment, they're exposed.

And I feel...

You know, if it's a case that the FEI do decide to move the match, that's not going away.

If government don't step up and support the FEI in the way we're calling them to do, that's not going away.

And eventually it'll come to, I would imagine it could potentially be a team decision as to whether or not they decide collectively to fulfil the fixture or individually, worse still, individuals may have to make personal choices.

And that's not what, them lads are there to play football.

That's all they want to do.

They shouldn't be taking on the politics of this or the administration of this.

the basketball team were allowed to do that yeah but they felt they had to do it anonymously that speaks volumes that speaks volumes it does they shouldn't have to make that decision the footballers will probably do it anonymously as well like they'll be put down as an injury or personal reasons or whatever the case may be I think there's so much focus on this match I think it would be fairly evident to anybody at this stage if somebody I don't know they may try and pursue that I hope they don't end up in that position and it's not a road they have to go down I sincerely mean that

all these lads want to do is play football and we should be supporting them in any way that we can.

And just to be very clear, to Sinn Féin's motion, and I presume I don't want to speak for the Sock Dems or anybody else who may table a similar motion, it's not anti-football.

This is to try and support football.
