No one should ever go, that's my opinion and I don't get life how that is.
When I came in in the first day, of course, it's all what's on people's minds and the chat.
But at the same time, you know...
Rightly or wrongly, we couldn't stand still.
We couldn't let it hold us back because we know and knew Justin was there pushing us on and saying, what are you doing?
Come on, you've got to crack on.
You've got to continue to do where we were going and where he wanted us to go.
So there'd be our moments in the changing room, in the canteen, around lunch, around breakfast, and even moments outside on the training ground.
You see individuals and myself speaking and thinking you're going to hear him, you're going to see him.
nothing's different other than the fact that Justin wasn't there and his voice and presence hasn't been here but it's very tough you can't just switch off and think oh he's gone and that's it when someone's got a hold on you and there was such an effect on your life and a work colleague a manager a gaffer a leader but also a bit of a friend as well because that's how he was that's the way he lived his life and how he made you feel involved
it was tough and still to this day there's moments now and whether it's in your mind yourself or be training day match day that as a group or things come up and what would the gaffer do now if only the gaffer was here he wouldn't have done this or he'd have done that he'd have said this to you and
sometimes you smile about it because those memories are good memories you know and it's you have to try and smile about the good times but there's other moments that maybe you need to take a deep breath and and turn your back and and just not so much take it in but sort of take that little moment to go set yourself to go again and i don't think there'll ever be a day whilst this group's together that whether it be a day goes by you don't think of him but there'll be days and weeks where he he comes up and in conversation these photos and
memorabilia around the training ground and stadium you know he'll always be he'll always be with us and it'll always be the moments but he's trying to be positive with those moments because that coming across in the wrong way if you continue to bring yourself down to be negative you stand still it's you get caught out especially in this game and in life and the type of man and character he was he wouldn't want us he wants us to to drive on and and to be successful because if he was here that's exactly what would have been doing
I don't think, for me, my opinion, if there was an issue with someone that, if they came out and openly said it to us in the changing room or within the training ground, that there'd be one person, especially in this group that I'm in and most of the groups I've been in, that wouldn't back them or wouldn't say, listen, do this, do that or help them.
But going back to what you've said, yes, I believe there might be a little worry from someone coming in and having, call it the bottle or the...
the front to say it because they're a little bit possibly embarrassed or a little bit reluctant because of it's maybe different and they're going to be not spoken about but then sort of maybe people the way they look at them worry about them and I think that's just life in general I don't just think that's football I think that's day-to-day life and but what I would encourage and what I would say is it's crucial that if anyone does have an issue whether it be at home that they can't talk to someone or something within the club
They need to open up because if there's any little problems I've had, and I don't mean that seriously, I mean like minor problems or if it was a major problem, first thing I want to do is talk to someone because sometimes you can't help yourself.
You need someone else's advice or you need someone else to say this or do this for you.
And that's what we're all here for.
We're here in life to help each other and drive each other on.
