And and the fear is actually um a fear of looking embarrassed and looking like a rookie out there in the world. voice-verified

wants to put themselves out there and and put out work that they don't feel like is is great work. voice-verified

But between the the fear of looking, you know, a bit like an imposter voice-verified

and perfectionism, those are two sides of the same coin. voice-verified

Um it can keep a stalled and it's like there's one foot on the brake and one foot on the gas and nothing ever happens. voice-verified

Now don't get me wrong, the quality of the art absolutely matters. voice-verified

But at some point you have to ask yourself um if by trying to get everything just perfect, are you holding yourself back um from just letting you and your work being seen? voice-verified

Technical skill matters, like I said, the work matters, but voice-verified

It doesn't matter as much as um the energy of the work, the story of the work, and that your voice is in it because that is what makes the work unique and different. voice-verified

And I worked with an artist, um, she came into Studio Lead uh a few years ago. voice-verified

And you guys, her work was so technically good. voice-verified

I mean, you could just look at it and be like, Wow. voice-verified

I mean, she could really nail a representational piece. voice-verified

Okay, so I think that's key to remember here is it was representational. voice-verified

It wasn't abstract or anything, because a lot of time with abstract we don't have a choice but to put our own hand in it, our own signature in it. voice-verified

But oftentimes when we are uh creating representational work, and by that I mean voice-verified

Uh, it could be a still life, it could be an apple, it could be, you know, landscape, it could be whatever, but it's r it represents something. voice-verified
