And she, her art, like as an artist, she was technically extraordinary.
You know, she could draw.
She understood perspectives and structure and proportion.
You know, she understood all of the rules.
You know, she had put in the time to do that.
And yet she hated absolutely everything that she was doing.
Like not in a self derogatory or self, let me try that again.
Not in a self deprecating way, but like in a way that she just, she was sad.
Like she just did not feel connected to her work.
So she was like, yeah, I can do that.
But so what?
Like there was just this emptiness for her that she was trying to get past.
And so over the next several days, it was so fun because I was able to say to her, you know, different things that I was doing.
Like when I had a moment when I was starting to overthink or when I thought, oh, I want to put a mark here.
but you know it didn't quote make sense to what i was doing and i was able to just help her work through what it would feel like if she started to trust each brush stroke
if she started to trust each decision, no matter how odd it might seem, she started to trust color choices that quote, made no sense because she started giving up the idea that she had to know what the finished product looked like.
She gave up the idea that she had to know where this was going and
Everyone in the room felt it, you know, because we always have a very supportive group of artists.
Everyone felt it.
And her work changed dramatically.
