Well, Steve, it's pretty disturbing that the nation's economy

now hinges and history now hinges on machines whose creators don't really even know how to control them.

The news coming out, there was a report released by two independent evaluation organizations about the OpenAI hack on Hugging Face.

So the two organizations are Meter and Redwood Research.

Both of these are very important for the reason that these are outside parties who are well-equipped to understand the inner workings

of the processes that unfolded for the hack against Hugging Face.

Just to give a very quick review, the audience will of course remember that OpenAI was testing the two of their models in a sandboxed environment.

They broke containment in order to get answers to the tests.

and they hacked into the Hugging Face cloud, the Hugging Face database, in order to get the answers to these tests.

Now, the details coming out in this report from Meter and Redwood show that it wasn't just simply two models.

It gives you much finer detail.

The models themselves spun out 1,200 agents.

The agents are...

basically, instantiations of the AIs that can go out and act of their own accord.

This is all supposed to be happening in, again, a contained environment, a sandbox environment, and each of those 1,200 agents were intended to be isolated from each other.

So you can imagine, like, a queen ant giving birth to 1,200 worker ants, all of which are in their

separate little cells.

But what happened was they discovered each other and created a message board, an unsanctioned message board, and began talking to each other about how to find the answers to these tests.

The test, of course, being the nature of it being hacking itself.
