It's kind of what life was going to look like as a young adult.
And a couple of years into living in Dallas, another thing not on my life bingo card, I started working for a local church there.
And so did that for six years in Dallas, moved to Waco to work for another church here where we live now.
Did that for about four years.
And so a decade in, I'm like, oh, I guess I am a local church guy.
That's kind of what life is going to look like for me.
And I was enjoying it.
but yeah eight eight years ago uh eight years ago this may so coming up here soon is when i started what is now daily goods you know similar to similar to beau where i bought some leather bought some tools and um made myself a journal made some for friends family co-workers and just kind of one thing led to another over uh you know four five six year period until really getting to this point of all right like this isn't a hobby anymore and i can't keep working for the church and doing
what Daily Goods had grown into.
So yeah, that was about 18 months ago that we made the plunge to full-time.
I started off in like men's small groups as my first job, but then really evolved into more of like an operational type role.
So I'm one of those people in life who likes a good spreadsheet.
And so yeah, I helped with kind of finance, HR, ops, facilities, that side of the church world is where I specialized my last probably five, six years there.
Man, it's a crazy story.
A buddy of mine in Dallas, we worked for a church in Dallas together, and he got a gift, a journal, pretty similar to how we make ours as a gift one year.
And I would kind of joke with them.
I was like, I'll bet I could make that.
Man, that's cool.
And I said it for three, four, five months, and I was both kidding and serious.
But probably four or five months into that joke, I was like, all right, I either got to stop saying this or do something about it.
