The Conservatives say, you know, it's it's um sort of unworkably uh enormous in terms of what they're saying they can cut off the budget.
Um and and i I I'm just slightly confused by that lack of clarity over how many
many millions are affected and how much they'll lose.
And their argument is it incentivizes business to have uh businesses to have a better uh and more regular, a better relationship and a more sort of regular contact with people who are ill.
Now, they argue this would be cost neutral because of them scrapping those uh national insurance uh rises.
So for businesses they say there'll be no extra cost.

They're slightly delegating some of the responsibilities to business.
Uh maybe there's a a a logic to that, but w what he was basically arguing was that by uh the sort of current system means that businesses can sort of just almost forget about some of their uh employees.
They point to the Netherlands, I think, where this system has been put in place in the past.
I think it is gone uh well there.
Uh and it won't apply to the smallest uh businesses.
where they're just a handful of o of staff.
But clearly i again it would be a big overhaul.
It would be complicated and it would affect a huge number of people.
Yeah, welfare to work is what they're branding, their version.
Basically, if you are a long-term benefit claimant, take over a year in their plans, uh, and you're fit to work, what they will encourage you to do is um get you to provide twenty hours uh per week of work for your community, organized by the local council or by a charity.
The examples he gave was this could be sort of picking litter.
