But that's why he's not going to probably hit for a real high average.
He's not going to have tons of on base.
But hopefully he can hit 25 to 30 and play his center field.
I just think that's who he is.
That's all.
Remember in spring training, and I think you're referring to spring training, when you get to those high pitches, he was going the other way.
He hit an awful home run.
And we're all, again, in spring training, we're talking about his new swing and how he's flattening the path.
And he's talked about chopping ground balls to the pitcher, all that stuff.
And those are, again, those are thought processes for him to help him, much like I talked about Ernie having his own thing.
And things were working at the time.
It kind of flattened things out for him because he just naturally works under the ball.
I would say, like he'll tell you, he naturally works under the ball.
I would say that he actually naturally works out and around, too.
That's a bad combo when you're trying to hit a fastball up in the zone or you see those breaking balls get him down and in, too.
Now, that's a very dangerous place to go with him because he gets to it, it's going to end up out of the ballpark.
But because his swing plane is fairly flat, the way he's out and around it flat, it's
Think of swinging very flat when the breaking ball got a lot of depth to it.
Well, you need to be right on to get to it, right?
And if you're not, it's going to be a lot of swing and miss.
