Yeah, you know, it's unique, right?
It started in mid-90s, 94, I believe was the first year, and really was driven a lot by Greg Norman and some of the Oceania players who obviously grew up watching the Ryder Cup, didn't have a chance to play in it, and wanted a team format.
So the PGA Tour started the President's Cup, this Team USA versus the International comprised of everywhere but Europe.
And, you know, while this would be this year in September is going to be its 16th playing, in the grand scheme of the game of golf, that's still really young.
And so I think it's still finding its footing.
The international team in particular is still trying to find their footing with football.
one win that came here in Melbourne in 98.
So there've been some really close matches over the last few playings.
Jeff Ogilvie, proud Australian, is going to be captaining the team this year.
And I know he's got a lot of great ideas about how you continue to grow the brand of the Shield, which is the international team's emblem.
So, you know, I think there's a lot of people giving time and thought right now to how do you continue to grow this event?
Part of the reason I'm here so early is because of that initiative.
How do we continue to make this thing bigger and better than ever before?
Right.
Yeah.
That launched actually here in 2019.
The last time we were here was the introduction of the shield.
And you're exactly right.
How do you unite people from all different countries, really all different continents?
Europe has it a little more naturally with the European Union and whatnot.
