It was the one that they really focused on in the hearing, which was a dog food brand where it had only gone up for one week before being dropped and called a down-down discount.
And in the end, that one got off on a technicality just because somebody forgot to put what they call the was price on the sticker, the old price,
And so therefore, they couldn't be accused of misleading people about what the price used to be because it wasn't there.
So that one didn't get up.
The 13 out of 14 other ones did.
Most of those only went up for about a month before coming back down again.
And the court said not good enough.
Yeah, absolutely.
I think it does.
I think it rewrites the rules around discounting for all retailers in Australia.
I think it's going to have a big influence on things like the Black Friday sales.
And I think it's been a long time coming because there's been a really grey area around what you can and can't call a discount in Australia.
I think consumers have lost faith in a lot of discounts that they see.
But I think we can have a little bit more faith now that we have a much clearer set of rules about what and what doesn't pass the pub test.
