for me the priority has got to be the wingers um you know i'm not saying anything to outline this there i think that would be uh what everyone else is looking for and i think you know alongside wingers the word you want in front of it is fast you know we want fast wingers um and then we can begin to to maybe have some sort of a coherent attack um so yeah fast wingers is where i really want to sort of focus how many fast wingers do you think they need
So this is where it gets, you know, I think one of the most difficult things with Salah, well, it might be the output, but I think you can probably make up output in different areas, you know, the two number nines, maybe the creative output from the likes of Vert, but I think what you're really going to miss is robustness.
I mean, his availability across the seven, eight seasons or however many it's been, it's just staggering, really.
The fact that he's not really had any long-term injury, I mean, his biggest absence has always been...
you know, through AFCON.
So what we need is someone who's going to be there and is going to be able to start, you know, 40 games a season or so.
Now, how you assess that in the market is obviously going to be a bit difficult, but I think in terms of numbers, you're probably going to have to need three just to make sure, you know, just in case anything does happen with injuries or fitness because replacing that availability from Salah is going to be really difficult going forward.
I think, is there a question, how realistic is Jadon Dans coming back?
Is that at all on the cards?
Can we even put that into the equation?
No you can't and unfortunately you can't really rely on Izak to be fifth for a long period of time I think as I just said with Salah he'll be there game to game will Izak give us that and whilst I think you're kind of expecting him to hit the ground running going into next season there's going to be games where we need some backup so
You probably are going to have to look at someone like a Bower maybe who could facilitate two positions, could wide or could play in the middle for that third person.
Yeah, no, definitely.
And look, Gakpo hasn't shown enough, but there are just going to have to be some players who we're just going to have to step up.
You know, we can't replace the entire squad, obviously.
So there comes a point where, you know, can someone like Gakpo just, you know, as you say, coming on for the last 10 minutes, can he do something?
Can he fill in a League Cup game and just get more from them?
Not for centrally, but I think Frimpong also poses a sort of question around that.
I mean, the manager starting Jones, you know, while Frimpong on the bench, makes me feel like he does not think he's a right back.
