I would have been defensive.

I would have said, Well, what are you talking about?

I failed.

I did the Abraham Accords.

I did US MCA.

I did the Olympics.

I did the World Cup.

I mean, you're just wrong.

That would have been an okay response, but the reason this response is so good is he left that part until the end.

And what he did instead was he reframed it using the high ground maneuver.
