What it could do better...

I wonder, this is a little bit of a marketing positioning thing, I wonder if it could have been marketed more explicitly as a book on hermeneutics and interpretation.

I don't know if that would be helpful or not ultimately to what it's doing, but I was just very surprised when I got into what it's actually doing.

That's not a critique per se, that's just more of a reaction.

One thing I wish the book did more of is interacting with material that's aimed at children.

I think there's a lot of films, even just like short films about Bible stories and Jesus stories that are in, you know, I remember, I remember like Adventures in Odyssey was an audio only, you know, product, but there's, there's also this old cartoon that was about kids time traveling back to Bible times and being in the stories.

I feel like there could have been more interaction with how do all these principles like the two horizons and the filling in the gaps and the harmonization, how does that play out in stories that are aimed at kids?

VeggieTales is obviously another big one.

Yeah, I would have liked a chapter on children's.

Maybe that's just beyond the scope of the research of the book.

There isn't really a lot of interaction with that in the book that it made me think about.

And then the only other thing I wish it did more of is just more of what it does so well.

So there's good interaction with the characters of Judas and Thomas and Mary Magdalene, but I would have loved a chapter on Peter.

Like, how is Peter portrayed?

Because I think the posture of the book is so thoughtful and really thought-provoking that it made me want...

more examples or the sanhedrin joseph of arimathea is a small you know a very very minor character but uh how how do our interpretive decisions and the principles that they're unpacking play out to even more of what's happening in the gospels i would have i would just like more um so take that for what it's worth uh not a strong critique uh it's more of a critique if it is a critique it's a critique that reveals what i appreciated so much about the book because i wanted more examples of the thoughtfulness

So that lands me on my final reading recommendation verdict.
