So Democrats were really pressing Hegseth on this point.

I mean, they say, hey, Trump and yourself has repeatedly touted that Iran is getting defeated militarily and that they are, you know, Trump has talked about their Navy being completely gone and having very few missiles.

So the Democrats on the Senate committee said, well, why are we seeing reports on strikes from Iran that are killing U.S.

soldiers?

And Hexeth pushed back strongly at this, says, well, look, yes, they do have some capability, but nevertheless, Iran is at its weakest point militarily.

And he kind of then added to that, well, in the last decade, perhaps in the last 47 years.

And so what they're having to argue now is...

Yeah, they still have a capability to inflict damage on the U.S.

soldiers out there, but they are nevertheless weakened.

And that's kind of a pivot from how Trump has been describing this to date.

That's a really great question.

It seems like the objective right now is to basically use military force to convince Iran that they need to agree to a deal with the U.S.

that addresses their nuclear capabilities.

I mean, strong arming them, essentially.

And you asked a little bit earlier, and I kind of didn't get to an answer here, but

Did Hegseth signal how this will end?

No, he really didn't say.

And this was a matter that he was pressed on over and over.

So he didn't really say, you know, how he envisions this coming.

You know, the U.S.
