Now we obviously there's quite a bit of risk every time you go out.

Um, but there were the only time that people had real gripes was if it's like, why are we need seemingly needlessly risking our lives here?

We're okay with the baseline risk.

Um, but yeah, I I uh we we I never slept better in my life than I did in Afghanistan, minus the first few.

days.

That was the worst sleep in my life.

Um and I I tell people that

You you enter into this state

uh of you're not literally in survival mode all the time.

I mean you're not

every second of every day in Afghanistan d fending for your life, but you live with a

pretty constant state of at any point we could get attacked here.

The the base where we were was sort of always potentially vulnerable to a suicide attack.

And those happened across the country in it with enough regularity that we had some mitigating things in place to try to protect ourselves.

But I mean, to be honest, if if if fighters decided to overrun where we were, they'd probably be able to do it.

even if we were ready and saw them coming.

And so you lived with a baseline understanding that for sure people could die here.

It's part of the deal.

And and that's not revelatory.

You go into c you go into the the war zone knowing that.
