And so we walk through this alleyway and it brings us out to this courtyard.
It's a pretty big courtyard.
Again, broad daylight.
It's eerily quiet.
You know, the women and children are gone.
It's like just a it's a ghost town.
And then at some point, machine guns open fire on us.
This is on body cam.
We've watched the video back.
It's it's eerie.
It's like silent and it's a it's an ambush.
Um, I say this and I I usually try to be careful how I say it.
But
The people who got shot off the jump in this initial volley were Afghan partner force who were with us and our dog, which was a blessing because this was a situation where it wasn't just a couple people in the windows.
There were fighters all over the village, like waiting for us.
And as soon as the shooting began, you know, we were probably outnumbered pretty significantly, but you don't know where anybody is.
This is a very guerrilla warfare, very urban warfare.
And if
We're gonna survive this.
The people that are going to get us out of the situation are the Navy SEALs.
