They were flying around.
By this point, there's air assets stacked over us because once an engagement starts, you got everything known to man at you at your disposal.
And they they told us over the radio, not our fire team, but we heard it over the radio, that there were these potential military-aged men that were set up near the exit of of the village.
So they knew the route we were likely going to take on the X-Fill because you you plan a bunch of stuff and you give all the potential routes you'll use to go in and out and you give it up to your higher command.
And so as you leave, you can call in, like, hey, we're gonna ex-fil, we're taking this.
route and they know to follow you to basically protect you on the way out.
And so knowing we were likely going to be taking this exfil route.
This drone operator spotted what they thought was military H men set up behind a wall or in this field.
Maybe they're gonna shoot at you guys when you leave.
so the it was not like you better go prosecute them, but just be aware.
Our fire team happened to be physically closest to where those potential military age men or ma'ams as they're called were.
And so we decided we would just go look.
We would go over there.
They told us there was this T intersection.
You could walk down the stem of the T and you could look over this wall and there'd be this field and you'd see them in this field, you know, and and and we would be able to make a decision about what to do.
Are they military aged men?
Are they kids?
Are they women and children who have come back?
Is it nothing?
We don't know.
